About Aruna

A manufacturer, not an intermediary

Aruna Spices was established in 2014 in Surabaya, East Java. We began by supplying locally sourced spices to Indonesian food businesses, then invested in our own processing facility as demand grew.

That facility is what separates us from a trading intermediary: raw materials, processing, quality assurance and export preparation are under our own control rather than subcontracted out.

Today we serve importers, distributors, food manufacturers, seasoning companies and private-label brands across several regions.

Product categories

Eight core spices, grouped by the part of the plant. Every product is available in several formats.

From farm to export

Six stages, each with a check attached to it. This is the difference between a manufacturer and a trading intermediary.

  1. Sourcing

We work with selected farmers, farmer groups and local suppliers across Indonesia's spice-producing regions.

CheckedSupplier and region recorded per intake lot

  2. Raw material inspection

Incoming material is inspected against the agreed product specification before it enters production.

CheckedMoisture, foreign matter and visual grade on arrival

  3. Cleaning & processing

Cleaning, sorting, drying or conditioning, and grinding, depending on the product and the format ordered.

CheckedParticle size against the buyer's specification

  4. Quality control

Samples are drawn throughout the run rather than only at the end, so a drifting line is caught while it is still running.

CheckedIn-process samples logged against the batch

  5. Packaging

    Packed to the customer's requirement — 20, 25 or 50 kg bags, or buyer-specified and private-label packaging.

CheckedNet weight, seal integrity and labelling

  6. Export preparation

Documentation and export procedures are completed before the container is loaded at Tanjung Perak.

CheckedCOA, phytosanitary and certificate of origin issued
